Conner Galway Talks About The Purpose of Junction Consulting in the COVID-19 Era

Conner is the President of Junction Consulting, but he calls himself a consultant within his team of consultants. Junction specializes in the tourism sector and analyzes their client’s business goals & accomplishments as well as day-to-day workflows, and builds a plan to equip them to get where they want to go through a series of strategies, presentations, training, and workshops. Junctions meaning for existence has to do with the jumble of resources and practices that has become digital marketing. They realized that they needed to be the ones in the driver's seat helping businesses navigate the world of digital marketing and understanding the capacities. Conner calls it “digital from the inside out”. Once the road map is complete, Junction is able to pass this plan onto Marketing agencies to take it one step further, while still being advisors on the back burner.

Getting into tourism was just a matter of being “chameleons” of the trade and becoming experts in whatever field they are working with at the time. Junction worked with Destination BC to deliver training and empowerment to businesses across BC that slowly led to a few 100 workshops showcased by the Junction team. In doing that they became the experts on Canadian tourism. Though they work mostly in tourism, they still dabble in retail among other sectors and love to take on projects with anyone that wants to take control of what they're doing, but it just so happens that they have extensive experience in tourism.

Through the time of COVID-19, Junction has been hard at work bringing businesses up to speed on live streaming information sessions & keeping up to date with the ever-growing need for digital practices now that everything is done online. Conner says LiveStream.com has always been their live stream resource for a professional solution that can go out to thousands of people, so there's more than just Zoom out there to try! He says you can also try out Instagram live, Youtube live, Vimeo, among others. “There’s a tool for everyone out there.”

Conner is excited to see the growth of new ideas coming from creatives in this time when there is so much free space to try things that we have always wanted to do but never had the time. He himself had always wanted to do his own webinars since he's been pushing them on others, and is happy to report that his new webinar endeavor is going well. Brands that have been creative and observant in trying new things in the time of COVID-19 are going to be the ones to succeed in the future, Conner predicts. Now is the time to test and evolve and eventually tie in these new practices into the everyday norm, especially the smaller businesses that need to stay afloat.

Conner uses these resources for inspiration and to stay up to date:

  • Going straight to the source for information, like Ahrefs blog, Facebook, ect.

  • The Brief, the Junction weekly newsletter among other newsletters
