On this episode of Marketing News Canada, Darian Kovacs interviews John Wiltshire, the President and CEO of the Canadian Marketing Association.

John is a seasoned business executive with extensive experience in product development, product management, marketing, and strategy. His core strengths include product design, branding, promotions and communication. He is known for his combination of diplomacy and tenacious leadership, with a passion for helping his team achieve success.

“The Canadian Marketing Association is for all aspects of marketing,” says John. Marketing is a profession, and much more than just the creative industry that many people think it is" states John. The Canadian Marketing Association connects marketers around Canada that all share the same passion.

The Canadian Marketing Association hosts an annual award show. Due to the pandemic, the past years were remote. For the award show coming this fall, applications have increased by 30 percent, as people see how beneficial the opportunity to participate is. 

Diversity is greatly important to the CMA. They have been researching to find out what it means to other marketers and how significant it is to them. They have been focused on teaming up with other associations that share their values such as AMA Toronto. 

John said the CMA is not in competition with anyone, they are simply all in this together and strive to help each other grow. Some fantastic marketers around Canada may not receive the recognition they deserve due to simply not having enough exposure. The job of the Canadian Marketing Association is to connect them with the right people to have their work seen.
