Celebrating Indigenous Culture with The Indigenous Marketing Company

I recently had the privilege of interviewing The Indigenous Marketing Company, a one-of-a-kind 100% Indigenous-owned business that is moving the needle in the marketing industry by empowering Indigenous communities and businesses across Turtle Island. Specializing in web design, branding, social media marketing and videography, The Indigenous Marketing Company provides customized solutions that embrace the unique needs and cultural context of Indigenous organizations.

With the mission of helping Indigenous entrepreneurs expand their reach, enhance brand recognition and achieve their business objectives while honouring Indigenous culture, this inspiring company is driving sustainable economic growth and making a lasting cultural impact.

Let’s give it up for Kaeden Merasty, Founder & CEO of The Indigenous Marketing Company.

Q) What is The Indigenous Marketing Company?

“The Indigenous Marketing Company is a 100% Indigenous-owned business dedicated to empowering Indigenous communities and businesses across Turtle Island. We specialize in web design, branding, social media marketing, and videography tailored to the unique needs and cultural context of Indigenous organizations. Our goal is to help Indigenous entrepreneurs reach wider audiences, improve brand recognition, and achieve their business objectives while celebrating Indigenous culture and fostering sustainable economic growth.”

Q) How did the company come to fruition? What was the vision behind it?

“The Indigenous Marketing Company originated from a vision to address the underrepresentation and lack of marketing resources for Indigenous businesses. Recognizing the immense talent, cultural richness, and economic potential within Indigenous communities, we wanted to bridge the gap between Indigenous entrepreneurs and modern marketing solutions. Our vision is to guide Indigenous Peoples towards achieving full economic independence that aligns with their cultures, values, and beliefs.”

Q) What is a challenge that your company has faced? How did you overcome it?

“One of the main challenges we have faced is scaling up the business while prioritizing our mission of empowering Indigenous students interested in marketing careers. To overcome this, we have reached out to Colleges and Universities to establish partnerships and provide job opportunities to students in marketing programs, either during their studies or after graduation.”

Q) What is an accomplishment that your company is proud of?

“One accomplishment that The Indigenous Marketing Company takes great pride in is the significant reach we have achieved within our first two years of operation. We have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses and communities across Canada, making a positive impact through our service offerings. We value the partnerships and relationships we have established along the way, which have been integral to our success and continued growth.”

Q) In what way is The Indigenous Marketing Company helping to improve the lives of Indigenous communities in Canada?

“The Indigenous Marketing Company actively contributes to the improvement of Indigenous communities in Canada through economic empowerment and cultural preservation. We assist Indigenous businesses in enhancing their market presence, attracting new customers, and expanding their revenue streams, thereby facilitating sustainable economic development and job creation. Additionally, our marketing strategies prioritize cultural authenticity and respect, showcasing Indigenous traditions, stories, and values to promote and preserve Indigenous culture, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding among a broader audience.”

Q) What’s next for The Indigenous Marketing Company?

“As we look to the future, The Indigenous Marketing Company is excited to continue building relationships and assisting Indigenous communities and businesses across Turtle Island in achieving their business goals.
