Victor Tang & Fresh Prep's Successes as One of the Top Food Delivery Services in Vancouver

Victor is the Chief Marketing Officer at Fresh Prep, starting out first as a customer to the service, Victor enjoys Fresh Prep not only as a consumer but as a member of their team. He sees fresh prep as not only a product, but as a service. Based in Vancouver BC, Fresh Prep is a food-prep delivery service that delivers all of their own orders across BC right to your door with their own drivers. Being located in Vancouver, and servicing across the province, Victor adds that the eating and diet habits of the people of BC are quite different from other provinces because of the extensive range of different lifestyles and diets. This makes for a great challenge for Fresh Prep and also makes them unique to other services in Canada. Victor mentions that their competitors deliver through Canada Post or UPS, making package tracking tricky for these companies to stay on top of. Fresh Prep offers 10 weekly meal options to customers, and Victor boasts economical pricing with gluten or dairy free options as well as vegetarian and vegan.

Victor explains food delivery services as a sort of rocket science. The amount of preparation and thought that goes into making a service like this run is no simple task. All the ingredients are made and portioned to cook directly from the box, based off of certain recipes that are selected. Even though its a complicated system on the businesses end, Fresh Prep prides itself on convenience for their customer, and allowing the extra step of having flexibility when it’s time to cook.

Victor finds that Fresh Prep captures most of their customer base organically & through referrals. Currently they are working with a promo that allows customers to refer a friend and receive a free meal, which allows them to have their loving client base do the work for them with word of mouth. Focusing on a target marketing of busy young families looking for an easy, convenient and healthy meal as well as the older market that simply cannot get out as easily to the store as they'd like.

Next steps for Fresh Prep is their zero waste initiative. They have a cooler bag rolling out with all of their ingredients and recipes in reusable containers to replace the plastics currently being used for delivery. Victor explains that this change isn’t just to get ahead of their competitors, but because they think it is right right thing to do for the future of the earth. This change actually increases the cost for Fresh Prep, but Victor says that the positive effects like creating jobs locally & the fact that they can recycle all waste for their customers to help save the planet, is enough reason for them to do it.
