Toronto's King West landmark gave event planners a first-hand look at what 12,000 square feet of customizable space can do.
Last month, Waterworks Food Hall opened its doors to more than 175 event planners, creative teams, and industry guests for “A Taste of the City," an immersive showcase designed to give the event industry a hands-on preview of the venue's capabilities.
Rather than a traditional reception or walkthrough, the evening was structured as a curated “Waterworks Passport" journey. Guests moved through four distinct spaces: the West Hall, East Hall, East Annex Lounge, and Civil Works, each staged to highlight what the venue can offer for private and corporate events.
“‘A Taste of the City' was created to be a fully immersive preview of what's possible in our event spaces at Waterworks Food Hall," said Eve Lewis, Founder and CEO. “Every corner of our historic King West landmark was designed with intention, and the event allowed us to showcase how each of our event spaces can take on its own distinct personality. Set within a beautifully restored heritage building, Waterworks offers over 12,000 square feet of highly customizable event space, and we wanted guests to feel how seamlessly it can transform for everything from intimate gatherings of 30 to large-scale activations of 1,300, all while celebrating the incredible culinary talent that makes Waterworks so special."
The evening featured live music, roaming entertainers, and aerialists, alongside food and drinks from the venue's vendors, including Civil Works (recently ranked #55 on Best Bars in North America), Boxcar Social, Aburi Sushi (the newest concept from the MICHELIN-star Aburi Restaurants family), and Union Chicken.
The event was a chance for the industry to see the space in action, and for Waterworks to make the case for itself as a venue for brand activations, corporate functions, and large-scale private events in Toronto.
