PR Fresh Hits Feb 09, 2022
Will they, won’t they? McCain’s Fries And Heinz Ketchup Wooing Each For Valentine’s Day.
A new Canadian power couple is on the block.
McCain Fries and Heinz Ketchup Canada’s latest social media strategy started Feb 1st when both brands unfollowed everyone on their Instagram and Twitter except for each other. Since than the two have been posting daily images professing their love for one another, as well as some saucy tweets.
The stunt has also included a billboard outside of Heinz and McCain’s headquarters in Toronto.
"Fries and ketchup are at the height of their power together," said Matt Kohler, Managing Director, Canada Retail, McCain. "They bring to mind history's most compelling couples: they're great on their own, and unstoppable together."
And fans of both the ketchup and fries can take part in the romance of the year by entering to win heart shaped lockets - the perfect campaign to drive up engagement (no pun intended) just in time for Valentine's Day.
Skip & Snoop Team Up Again
Is there anything Snoop Dogg can’t do?
The business-savvy rapper is also a noted foodie. So a partnership with Skip The Dishes just made sense.
In 2020 Snoop and Skip teamed up to drop “Did Somebody Say” a track encouraging people to order using Skip The Dishes.
Commenting on the release, The Doggfather had this to say "People said it could never be done - a Skip track that you can get down to. That's why they brought me in, to put some spice on it."
Now their partnership continues, with Skip launching a free pop-up hot dog cart to give Torontonians a chance to experience “Getting Delivery Like A G”. The promotion is for one day only; February 11th from 11 am - 4 pm. The cart will be at Forno Cultura located at 1056 Queen St. W
Skip is also encouraging Canadians to order via Skip Express Lane this weekend. Not only is it a quick and convenient way to get your grocery shopping done, but shoppers who order from Friday, February 11th to Sunday, February 13th will find something extra in their bags - a Snoop Dogg inspired sticker sheet. Express Lane is offered in Toronto, London, Winnipeg, and Edmonton markets, with plans to expand the service to other cities.
