What are the Hashtag Awards?

Marketing News Canada is proud to be co-hosting the fourth annual Hashtag Awards! We have teamed up with Socialathome to celebrate the innovative work of Canada’s marketing, communication, and advertising professionals.

The Marketing News Canada team is excited to be a part of these awards for many reasons. As a team with various backgrounds, years of experience, and professional skills, we have found that marketing industry awards are typically not accessible in terms of cost, time, and representation. Often the time required for applications, the initial investment, and the Toronto-centric panel deters potential applicants. It is our goal to create an awards show that is not only financially accessible, but also in regards to time, industry, and opportunity. The Hashtag Awards celebrate the diversity of Canada and promote inclusivity amongst all people, cultures, and ethnicity. These awards are meant to welcome even the smallest of agencies and brands, without the hours of proof-reading an application.

The Hashtag Awards is also unique as a result of our judging panel. Our lineup of jurors features a BIPOC group of Canadians from coast to coast. By creating a more inclusive judging panel, we can design a more accessible awards platform. It is our goal to see a more diverse group of applications - both geographically and culturally. Marketing News Canada encourages everyone from all across Canada, all industries, and backgrounds to consider their marketing campaigns for this year's Hashtags Awards.

The Hashtag awards help us recognize the individuals and organizations who excel in digital marketing, traditional marketing, agency work, communications, ad campaigns, and overall awesomeness right across Canada! This year's awards are especially important, as many of us have had to pivot and adapt to a rapidly changing industry due to the pandemic.

Nominations for the Hashtag Awards are still open. What are you waiting for? Nominate an individual or organization that has inspired you this past year! Click HERE to learn more.
