On this episode of Marketing News Canada, Daryl Louie interviews Bibi Raven, Link Builder at BibiBuzz.com.

An affiliate site is ideal for a niche or a certain topic that needs to be brought to attention. Using link building, you can have sites where users may have similar interests such as fitness and veganism be connected. An example of affiliate links is the Tokyo Olympics. Some people may search “sleep like an Olympian” so affiliate links would include perhaps mattress companies.

The advice Bibi shared is that everyone should understand how to use filters. They work well when narrowing down information. “Do not be afraid to say no to certain opportunities,” says Bibi. When a lead comes in, and it's not the most fitting one for you or your needs, do not be afraid to reject it.

If a link opportunity does not seem profitable at first, it probably is not, explains Bibi. If you have to search a website to see how it may benefit you, it is not the one for you. In the time you were searching for content, you could have found 10 other sites more fitting for an affiliate link.

Due to this interesting and pivotal year, most businesses have moved online. However, in the world of digital marketing, there have not been many changes. If anything, the need for digital marketing has increased due to the number of people online shopping. Bibi says, throughout the pandemic, she has been busier than ever.

Bibi goes on to discuss influencer outreach and how it can benefit a brand. What she means by this, is that she has people try a product, review it, then link it back to the product's original website. A lot of traffic often comes from Pinterest, says Bibi. She said this traffic is important to note since it is organic and not filtered by Google.

Bibi said, a lot of brands and influencers may have one product or post that makes them popular on the internet, this one time may be enough for them to gain a following. A common example of this is TikTok, many influencers will have one video that is responsible for most of their following

A trend in marketing Bibi likes to follow is being authentic. She has realized how much more likely a consumer is to buy from a brand they feel is authentic, and they share values with. This applies to influencers as well, people like following them for the content they feel is relatable.

Bibi has worked in a variety of different fields, and that is what makes her so excellent for the digital marketing space. Her experience and knowledge are what make her the ideal Link builder for BibiBuzz.com.
