#TDThanksYou Spreads Positivity Across Communities!

#TDThanksYou campaign rewards TD customers who continue to make differences and spread positivity in their local communities

TD Bank is back to celebrate its customers with the annual TD Thanks You campaign! The #TDThanksYou is an annual North American program designed to demonstrate TD's commitment to enriching the lives of its customers and communities by personally thanking customers in unique and exciting ways.

After having lives disrupted and upturned by the pandemic, we are slowly beginning to see glimpses of our pre-pandemic lives. During these times, TD Bank has witnessed outstanding acts of generosity, compassion, and humanity amongst many of its loyal customers.

This year, TD has chosen to place a focus on these very same heroes by amplifying the stories of its customers who are spreading positivity across Canada. The resilience these customers have displayed in the face of COVID-19 is cause for celebration, and their unwavering spirit to support others as life gradually gets ‘back to normal’ is at the heart of this year’s annual TD Thanks You campaign.

"This year's TD Thanks You campaign is focused on sharing uplifting stories of TD customers who are spreading positivity in their communities without asking for anything in return," said Michael Armstrong, Vice President, Brand & Corporate Sponsorships, TD Bank Group. "Our ability to recognize outstanding customers begins with truly knowing them personally, and the relationships our colleagues build based on mutual trust. This is the cornerstone of TD Thanks You, and what allows us to bring to life the personal, meaningful and exciting surprises for our customers."

Delivering personal, human, experiences has long been part of TD's DNA, in big and little ways, and we get excited to continue showing this support year after year. The chosen outstanding customers are living the TD brand's purpose and promise, showing what it means to be a hero. These individuals have displayed selflessness and optimism, stepped up for their communities, and helped make the world a slightly better place than how they found it. Among these outstanding customers are:

  • George Sully is from Toronto, Ontario, and is recognized for the launch of Black Designers of Canada, a platform to support Black artists and celebrate Black excellence in design. His network of Black artists from across Canada serves to help increase visibility and create a community for mutual support. George was gifted $10,000 to support and amplify the Black Designers of Canada, and a 14-foot mural was commissioned in Toronto’s Fashion District inspired by George and Black Designers of Canada.

  • LaMeia Reddick is from North Preston, Nova Scotia, one of the largest Black communities in the country. LaMeia runs a youth drop-in centre out of her own home and launched the North Preston Surf Program in 2019 with other community leaders. The program aims to challenge historical narratives and remove barriers to inclusivity for the sport. LaMeia received more than 50 new surfboards and surf leashes to enhance and expand her program.

  • Nicki Monilaws is a businesswoman and hairstylist from Red Deer, Alberta who, despite the constantly changing health and safety restrictions, has continued to give back to her community along with her daughter Jayda, where the pair has donated goodies to teachers and frontline workers, along with care packages for people in the region experiencing homelessness.

  • Lisa Martella is the Executive Director of A Loving Spoonful, a Vancouver-based non-profit that provides meals to people with HIV/AIDS in a safe, discreet way. Recently, she has provided support to hospitals and senior centres, demonstrating just how inspiring, empathetic, and resilient Lisa is. Lisa received $3000 in gift cards to help support fundraising events so that she can continue to be a driving force of positivity in her community.

"The TD Thanks You campaign embodies TD's unique culture, and we channel the personal connections created between our colleagues and customers to make this annual campaign come to life," said Betsey Chung, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Marketing Officer, TD Bank Group. "We have the privilege of knowing our customers on a personal level and learning the stories of these selfless individuals – those who are helping to make their communities, and the world, a slightly better place than how they found it.
