Roku Canada enters OneView partnership with Matterkind
As Roku Canada continues to expand into the Canadian TV advertising industry, the company has further extended its partnership with Matterkind into 2023.
The extended commitment means more opportunities to optimize omnichannel campaigns, and as a result - reach more screens and eyes in a targeted approach.
“More and more Canadians are turning to ad-supported streaming services such as The Roku Channel for their content,” says Christina Summers, Country Manager at Roku Canada. “With this, there’s a great opportunity for marketers to zero in on their target audience and better reach more TV streamers across the country, and the ROI benefits that Matterkind has seen on the platform, is evidence of how powerful this tool is.”
Matterkind’s audience-first philosophy works together with OneView for more efficient, targeted marketing campaigns that generate useful data.
“The OneView platform is unique in that it allows us to leverage identity data from the Roku streaming platform, specifically TV viewership data,” says Debrani Ghosh, Sr, Director of Marketing Solutions, Matterkind. “We can also identify individuals who engage with specific apps or re-message consumers based on past content consumption. Ultimately, it is a combination of OneView’s 1st party audience data, cross-channel targeting capabilities and robust measurement solutions that have allowed us to outperform on client KPIs.”

TELUS launches Canada’s first streaming bundle
TELUS has introduced Stream+, the first and only premium streaming bundle in Canada. Stream+ combines Netflix Premium plan, Apple TV+, and discovery+ on one single bill for $25 per month. With Stream+, customers can enjoy their favourite shows and movies from the comfort of their home or while on the go, powered by TELUS’ award-winning wireless network with the best video experience in the country.
Streaming has won over many viewers looking for choice and value. A recent Angus Reid survey commissioned by TELUS found that close to half of Canadians use three or more streaming platforms and that 90 percent of Canadians would bundle streaming services together to save money if they could.
“Over the last two years, Canadians coast-to-coast have been streaming more than ever and are increasingly looking to simplify their streaming subscriptions while enjoying premium entertainment for less,” said Jim Senko, President of TELUS Mobility Solutions. “We’ve been listening to our customers and we’ve heard that they’re looking for convenience, cost savings and simplicity. That’s why we’re excited to deliver Stream+, a seamless entertainment experience, backed by our globally leading wireless networks. TELUS Mobility customers across the country now have access to a wide variety of their favourite content that they can enjoy whenever they want, wherever they are.”
Streaming enthusiasts can watch from multiple devices simultaneously, and combine Stream+ with unlimited mobility plans from TELUS.
