Meta gets Festive for the Holidays

Facebook/Meta is bringing in the holiday cheer with festive Messenger-themed features. Instagram and Facebook DM's now include new soundmojis, the Messenger Kids Santa Experience, and holiday AR effects!

The platform has partnered with beauty guru Ashley Strong to create a holiday-themed AR effect. The effect can be added to Meta video calls and includes a sparkly, snowflaked appearance. The holiday AR effects can be used within the Messenger app or Instagram by starting a video call or taking a selfie.

Novo Nordisk Canada Adapts Global Ads for Canadian Eyes

Pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk Canada has launched their first TV ad (version française ici) with creative developed by OutPost 379. As the Canadian arm of a global healthcare company committed to defeating diabetes, Novo Nordisk Canada tasked OutPost 379 with the creative challenge of adapting the organization’s global TV ad concept for a Canadian audience.

About the Ad – Debuted during the TV broadcast of the Grey Cup last Sunday, the 60-second spot is centred on the idea that defeating diabetes isn’t a question of ‘if’ – it’s a question of ‘how.’ Through powerful – Canadian – imagery, the ad takes the audience on a journey of partnerships to defeat diabetes. The TV ad will be airing on spots during Hockey Night in Canada, the World Junior Championships, NFL games, and holiday movies among other French and English programming throughout December. The ad is being amplified through a paid campaign on Novo Nordisk’s FacebookLinkedIn, and Twitter.

Instagram Adds Embeds User Profiles on Third-Party Websites

In yet another move to increase Instagram’s presence outside of the app, Instagram has now introduced a new option to embed a mini version of your Instagram profile on third-party sites. Users can now directly link their profiles into a website, allowing direct click through and easier connection.

We expect to see the user of this feature grow to encourage influencer brand connections, leverage experts, and so much more! Driving more traffic back to the Instagram platform
