GroupM Expands Motion Entertainment into Canada

GroupM, WPP's esteemed media investment group, has announced the expansion of GroupM Motion Entertainment into Canada.

As per the media release, the move aims to provide partners and clients with premium entertainment options and tailor-made brand opportunities under the leadership of Daniel Mekinda.

Working in collaboration with GroupM agencies Mindshare, Wavemaker, and EssenceMediacom, the Entertainment company hopes to pave the way for Canadian-based clients to align with original programming, branded entertainment, and cultural endeavours through creative collaborations and talent partnerships.

GroupM Motion Entertainment, formerly known as Motion Content Group, boasts a hefty portfolio of premium content investment, intellectual property (IP) creation, and distribution.

With over 1,800 television series co-produced worldwide in partnership with acclaimed creatives, talent, networks, and platforms, GroupM's expansion promises exciting prospects for its clients and the broader marketplace.

Kevin Johnson, CEO of GroupM Canada, said the expansion is incredible news.

Daniel Mekinda, a professional in entertainment, music, and media, will spearhead GroupM Motion Entertainment in Canada.

Mekinda’s recent feat was serving as the head of global partnerships and sales for Dentsu International and launching Dentsu's content agency, The Story Lab, in Canada.
