Clearly Launches New Eyewear Collection to Help Gamers

Vancouver’s Clearly, known for contact lenses, sunglasses and prescription glasses recently launched their Gamer Glasses Collection aimed at helping Canada’s gamers play better and have less eye strain.

The collection features blue-cut lenses to cut down on eye strain and give you a sharper gameplay experience, low profile arms make wearing over-ear headsets more comfortable, and silicone nose pads allow the user to wear the glasses comfortably for long periods of time.

The goal of the video, created by One Twenty Three West, was to convince gamers, including content creators & viewers, to see glasses as a key part of standard gaming equipment. The video uses timeless gaming tropes and inside jokes from the gaming community to remind our audience how impressive your eyes really are, how much heavy lifting they do while gaming, and why it’s so important to protect and get the best out of your eyes, so they can remain the most valuable tool in a gamer’s arsenal.

Eric Seymour, ACD and Art Director on the project said “Coming off authentic was the key challenge as this demographic can spot a try-hard from a mile away. We spent time on twitch, we asked our coworker's kids what games they were playing – we even reached out to the owners of a local esports arena to get the language and visuals just right.”

The video started running across Clearly’s web and social media assets starting in September and will appear during gamer activations and events sponsored by Clearly.
