On this episode of Marketing News Canada, Darian Kovacs interviews Jason Barnard. He is the founder and CEO of Kalicube.

Kalicube is a groundbreaking digital marketing agency that pioneered the concept of exact match Brand SERPs. This is the information that readers see when they ‘Google’ your brand. Jason has many different perceptions on what a brand is. To him it can be the name of a person, podcast, events, company and nearly everything searchable on the internet.

Jason is an author, who writes regularly for digital marketing publications. He is a speaker at major conferences worldwide. He has spoken at events such as BrightonSEO and Pubcon. If Jason was not talented enough already, he is also a podcaster. He hosts a digital marketing podcast, and describes the conversations on his podcast as intelligent, interesting and always fun.

Jason Barnard has worked in very different fields of work. From his first job being pushing carts at a supermarket, to in the 2000’s playing the role of a blue dog in a musical cartoon for preschoolers. Jason displays his creativity in many different ways, one being through music. He is a singer and a double bassist. In 1989 he founded WTPL Music in France.

In the interview Jason spoke about writing and how to grow as an author. He discussed the significance of listening to others' advice and criticism. Publishing companies enjoy working with him as he is passionate about learning and improving. He stated that he once rewrote a whole article three times to ensure it was work he was proud of sharing and readers would benefit from viewing his work.

The website home page is the single most important thing in your digital marketing strategy in terms of your brand, product or service says Jason. To have useful information appear on the internet, we must explain to Google, who we are and what we are looking for in the search engine to produce useful information.

In regards to the internet and search engines, he discussed the significance of Wikipedia and how it is changing. He said that once he had three wikipedia pages deleted about him as the information was not accurate. As mentioned before, the entity home is the most important aspect of your brand, if you have it, you do not rely on Wikipedia.

Jason is a highly educated individual with a large skill set. He understands the significance of search engines and how to use them to further a brand and improve its functionality. Jason Barnard is a thought leader that does not refer to himself as a thought leader. Kalicube is a useful resource founded by Jason Barnard.
